RIDEBOOK
Ridebook Privacy Policy
Ridebook is published by Tracy Granzyk. This policy explains what happens to the information you put into Ridebook. The short version: it stays on your phone.
Your journal stays on your phone
Everything you enter in Ridebook, including your horses, rides, check-ins, reflections, goals, show results and photos, is stored only on your device, inside the app. Ridebook has no accounts and no servers. We never receive your entries, and we cannot see, read or recover them.
Photos and camera
If you add a photo to a horse or a ride, Ridebook asks for permission to use your camera or photo library at that moment. Only the photo you choose is copied into the app, where it stays on your device. Ridebook does not browse or upload the rest of your library. You can change these permissions at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the Founding Member purchase are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. The app checks with the App Store to confirm whether you have an active purchase, so it can unlock the features you paid for. Apple’s handling of that information is covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
What you choose to share
A few actions send information out of the app, and each one happens only when you start it:
- Exporting your data. Export creates a file of your Ridebook data and opens your phone’s share sheet. The file goes wherever you choose to send or save it. We never receive it.
- Sending feedback. Send feedback opens your own email app with a message addressed to us, including the app’s version number. We receive only what you choose to send, and use it only to reply and to improve Ridebook.
What we don’t do
Ridebook contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not sell, rent or share your information, because we don’t collect it.
Deleting your data
You can delete any horse, ride, show or entry within the app. Deleting the app deletes everything stored in it. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup may include Ridebook’s data. Those backups are managed by you and Apple, not by us.
Children
Ridebook is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. If a future version of Ridebook adds features that store data off your phone, such as cloud backup, this policy will be updated before those features are released.
